Our company originally brought on Brad Nelson as a quality consultant in February, 2016. It was a difficult time, as our third quality consultant had just resigned just one week after we successfully concluded our Stage 1 audit for ISO 9001:2008 and three months before our scheduled Stage 2 audit. Brad dug in and charted a path for our company that ultimately resulted in our successful audit and ISO certification. He assessed our QMS and concluded that we were documenting (at the previous consultants’ urging) two to three times more processes than were required by the ISO standard. So wequickly rationalized these down to a manageable number. Brad brought this same level of clear thinkingand pragmatism to every aspect of the certification process. We passed the Stage 2 audit in June 2016 with flying colors.
In late 2017 we began to focus on the ISO 9001:2015 certification and again leaned on Brad to help us lock down a game plan and align our efforts. Our goal was the audit for 2001:2015 in May of 2018. Brad dug in started working our team. Along the way our business had grown enough that we decided to hire afull time, experienced Quality lead. Brad helped vet candidates and ultimately worked closely with our hire so that we didn’t lose a beat going through the internal and external audits. We completed the external audit without issue on May 23, 2018 – right on schedule!
Brad is the consummate pro. He’s personable, knowledgeable, articulate and he listens well. He doesn’t just provide advice; he actively engages with you to solve problems. When the need for a new process emerges, Brad gives you a simple tool to document, measure and improve the process. He always looks for the most direct and simplest way to get from A to B. I highly recommend Brad Nelson in any role related to quality, reliability and business process improvement.
